The Foundations of Frontier Lodge

"Who could ever record all the happenings at a camp?
Or the many ways God has blessed the work?
Or all the people who have helped in the work?
God can. And He has it recorded for eternity, in heaven."
- Jane Blair, 1986

In 1986, a history book titled: “The Foundations of Frontier Lodge: Fifty Years of Christian Camping in Quebec” was published to record how Frontier Lodge came to be, and recall the first 50 years of our camp ministry. Jane Blair daringly embarked on the journey of gathering facts and memories to tell the story of how christian camping started in Quebec, and to give thanks to the Lord for what He has done. This is not a comprehensive record of everything that has happened at and through Frontier Lodge. It is a lighthearted and often humorous collection of stories that illustrate God’s hand of blessing and provision from 1936-1986!

Jane Blair wrote this book with the encouragement and support of Norm and Marg Gentry, and Ron Rublee who providing reliable documentation to confirm the facts and stories compiled in this book.

We wanted everyone to have access to these anecdotes that help tell the story of how Frontier Lodge started and what it was like to be a part of camp in those early years. We are very excited to share these NEW digital versions of “The Foundations of Frontier Lodge”! May you laugh often and be pleasantly surprised as you read about the Foundations of Frontier Lodge!

As almost 35 years have passed from the writing of this book, we look forward to sharing a second volume with you!
