P U R S U I T
A Retreat for Young Adults 18-30yrs
June 6-8th 2025
Our desire is to bring post-secondary young adults from across the province together to experience God’s creation, His love, and a community of other people that are excited about pursuing a life identified in Christ.
Kick off your summer with an awakening retreat by the lake at Frontier Lodge. The weekend will include main sessions, worship, teachings, thought-provoking seminars and discussions, FUN and time in community building friendships. There will be lots of opportunities to hang out by the waterfront and enjoy swimming, boating, and tubing. We’ll have organized group games and sports, board games, and more!
Weekend Theme
You weren’t made to simply survive! You were made to flourish—to grow strong, live with purpose, and reflect God’s beauty and truth in a world that desperately needs both. In a society of comparison, pressure, and uncertainty, we’re invited to build our lives on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ. At Pursuit, we’ll explore what it means to live with deep roots in Christ, becoming who He created and saved us to be.
Through interactive, honest conversations about the things that often hold us back—like shame, confusion about calling, and fear about the future—we’ll create space to reset, refocus, and rediscover your identity in Christ and the life He invites you into.
Whether you feel like you’re just starting to take root in your faith or are ready to branch out in new directions, this weekend is for you. Come ready to be challenged, encouraged, and equipped to flourish—in faith, in purpose, and in the pursuit of Jesus!
Keynote Speaker - Jon Waind
Jon Waind lives in Montreal with his wife, Tonja, and most of their children… some of the time. He works for Trinity Western University directing the Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa and teaches courses in ethics and culture. Jon loves God and his family, likes basketball and building, and tolerates mowing the lawn and putting out the garbage. His best days include laughing with family and thinking through moral dilemmas.
Morning Devos - Daniel Meade
Worship Leader - Mike Calo
Seminar Speaker
Daniel Meade
Daniel Meade is the lead pastor at Hope Community Church in Lennoxville, QC. Daniel is an American, but has served in various ministry roles in the US, Canada, Germany and Niger. He is passionate about seeing God’s word come alive in inspiring and catalytic ways. Daniel and his wife, Victoria, enjoy playing strategy games and hiking with their four very active boys. He apologizes in advance, but Daniel appears least-sanctified whenever interacting with New York Yankees fans.
Seminar Speaker
Kelly Orellana
Kelly has been serving in youth and young adult ministry for a number of years now and has a real heart for walking alongside people as they grow in their faith. He and his wife have been married for almost eight years, and together they love creating spaces where people feel safe to share their stories and encounter Jesus in a real way.
This is Kelly’s third year being part of the planning team for Pursuit, and he’s genuinely excited to see what God is going to do over the weekend. When he’s not leading or mentoring, you’ll probably find him around a table with friends, deep in a board game and good conversation.
At Pursuit, Kelly will be speaking on “Breaking Free from Shame”—a message about stepping out from the weight of the past and into the freedom Jesus offers.
Seminar Speaker
Nathan Cherry
Nathan is a financial advisor with a wealth of expertise in portfolio construction, insurance strategies and holistic planning. He works closely with families, business owners, and professionals to help them pursue their financial goals—always with an emphasis on what matters most to them. Nathan has a passion for the younger generation and especially enjoys helping them achieve their financial, career and life goals. His commitment to faith and community is at the heart of everything he does—both professionally and personally.
Rustic Cabin Accommodations
This weekend we’ll be camping out in rustic camp cabins! The girls will be staying in cabins on the east side of camp, and the boys will be staying on the west side of camp. Everyone must bring their own bedding, pillows and towels. We recommend that everyone bring warm clothes for sleeping, and an extra blanket just in case. We’ll send you the weather forecast before the weekend to help you pack!
Bring Your Own Tent
If you’re feeling adventurous, why not bring a tent and sleep in the great outdoors? This would be a good option for married couples who would like to stay together over the weekend, or individuals who would just like a little more space to themselves. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a tent so we can prepare a spot for you!
